Research Fellowships
The Airey Neave Trust has generous funds of liquid money available and offers fellowships for academics wishing to undertake research in the field of human freedom. Such research, in a department of the fellow’s choice, will fall within the definition of helping to protect and/or enhance personal freedom under the rule of democratic law, either national or international, against the threat and consequences of political violence. It may, specifically, concentrate on a subject relating to terrorism, political violence and torture. Theologians are encouraged to submit proposals, especially those which would go some way towards shedding light on radicalisation.
The result will be a report, publication or publications, in the form of an article, series of articles, or monograph.
Exclusions:
Those doing masters’ degrees or doctorates.
Applications:
There is no application form and no closing date. However, applicants should produce a research plan for the period of the fellowship (which can be for one or two years) of not more than 500 words, giving a synopsis of the planned research and a more detailed account suitable for an expert referee’s judgment.
Seminars and Workshops:
The Airey Neave Trust is prepared to make sums up to £5,000 available for seminars and workshops, with certain guidelines.
PLEASE NOTE:
Enquiries should be made to the Administrator, Mrs Hannah Scott.
